ALL MEMBERS please join us for our monthly meeting to be held on Thursday, February 5, 2015 at 7:00pm in the Cafeteria at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Recreation Center. There will be coffee and pastries served this evening.
Nominations: Officers to be elected
All offices (except Immediate Past President) President, Vice-President, Orator, Recording Secretary, Financial Secretary, Treasurer, Trustee’s (five) Master/Mistress of Ceremonies (two), Sergeant-at-Arms, Arbitration Committee (five with five alternates) and Delegates. If you will not be present at the meeting and would like to accept a nomination, a written letter addressed to the President or Recording Secretary outlining which specific office nomination that you will be accepting must be submitted prior to the meeting. No exceptions will be made.
Qualifications for Office:
Cannot be elected for an office unless he/she has belonged to the Order six (6) months. (ART. #128-Sec.D-page 45). Cannot be a candidate for President or Vice-President unless held a lesser office for one (1) year (ART’s. 90&91 – page 35). A President who has served at least two (2) consecutive terms may be re-elected with the unanimous consent of the assembly (ART #93-para. (a) – page 35).
Eligibility to Vote:
Member has to be in good standing in dues and assessments with the filial lodge and if he/she does not make proper payment, loses his/her right to vote and also the right to run for office (ART. #132 – page 48). The member has the right to vote at all annual elections provided that the member has been a member of the Order prior to the January meeting prior to the election (ART. #128 – C – page 45). The election of officers with the exception of the Immediate Past President will be held in the month of March at its meeting and must be installed on or before May 15, 2015 (ART. #83 – page 34).

CARNEVALE: Is quickly approaching. February 7, 2015 at the Mt. Carmel Recreation Center at 7:00pm. Mark Gerardi is our Chairperson. SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS: For both our lodge and that of the Grand Lodge can be found and downloaded from our website. Please read the requirements and time deadlines very carefully. NO EXCEPTIONS will be made.
MEMBERSHIP DUES: For 2015are now due! Please complete and mail in the form that is attached to the bottom of this newsletter with your check. You may also make returns at the meeting.
